Meeting on Safe Installation of Natural Gas Supply Network

Georgian Business Ombudsman Irakli Lekvinadze has attended a meeting covering safe installation of natural gas supply network at residential houses. The meeting was held by the initiative of the Georgian Energy Ombudsman. Members of Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), representatives of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall office of  architecture, National Agency of Standards and Metrology of Georgia and natural gas supply licensee companies attended the meeting. The parties stressed that  improper installation  of gas heating systems and violation of application rules have increased death toll. The parties also noted that the country lacks for due regulations in this direction. The meeting participants discussed current challenges before energy companies and mistakes made by developers in the process of installation of gas supply network, probability of involvement of municipal office of architecture in resolution of relevant issues. The parties agreed to hold a joint meeting with development companies with the participation of Business Ombudsman and Energy Ombudsman
