Business Ombudsman: Business Sector Complains about Court Mistakes – Arbitration Court is Best Solution

Business Ombudsman of Georgia Irakli Lekvinadze has taken part in Arbitration Days 2008 conference and addressed the conference delegates.

“Over the past period the time for discussing cases has decreased, but specialization of court system in business disputes remains a serious challenge”, the Business Ombudsman noted.

Main remarks that the private sector express are related to problems with the court specialization in business disputes, Lekvinadze noted.

“The business sector complains about mistakes in the court system and establishment of arbitration court is the best solution. The business complains about protracted trials and invaluable exploration of a number of issues related to peculiarities of business disputes.

Therefore, any decision and new reforms related to growth in competences, creating new arbitration platform is very important and the business sector receives additional space to protect its own interests. We welcome that important delegation is attending the conference from EU. They will share their experience and a memorandum will be signed with Vienna Arbitration. It is also a very important that in December 2018 we will sign a memorandum with Paris Arbitration Court. This is an only genuinely influential platform all over the world and it is important that it have representation in Georgia.

Thanks to the mentioned platform Georgia will become one of the important centres for discussion of business disputes”, Irakli Lekvinadze said.
