Meeting with Representatives of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

 

Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has organized a meeting, where recently appointed Business Ombudsman Irakli Lekvinadze held his first meeting with representatives of GCCI Board member business associations and companies from Tbilisi and regions.

 

In the first part of the meeting Irakli Lekvinadze held a presentation about activities of Business Ombudsman's Office and analyzed key principles of the office activities and unveiled future plans. The meeting was continued in interactive regime. Businessmen emphasized relevant problems in business sector and offered mechanisms for their resolution.

 

«Starting today we, the Business Ombudsman's Office, will hold meetings with business sector representatives. We  held the first meeting with GCCI member business associations. The GCCI unites both sectoral and regional business associations, as well as its member business companies. We will continue these meetings with major and small business associations. Next week we will meet with  advisory and legal companies, which actively cooperate with the business sector and know the sector's problems very well. We will also meet with nongovernmental organizations operating in business field, because at this stage, all information is of crucial importance for us. Naturally, these meetings will outline priorities and we deliver specific issues to corresponding administrative offices», the new Business Ombudsman said.

 

GCCI President Nino Chikovani stressed the importance of a dialogue between public and private sectors. This platform is of crucial importance for small, medium and regional business sectors, Nino Chikovani added.

 

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili appointed Irakli Lekvinadze as Business Ombudsman of Georgia at the January 25, 2018 government meeting. Before, Irakli Lekvinadze has served as Tbilisi Vice Mayor. The new Business Ombudsman is an economist by profession. He holds a doctoral degree in business administration. He has worked as a consultant for various international programs and as a vice president for Association of Young Financiers and Businessmen (AYFB).

 

Representatives of about 80 business companies have attended the event organized by GCCI.

 

In several days Irakli Lekvinadze will meet with representatives of advisory and legal companies, nongovernmental organizations specializing in business sector, major, small sectoral and regional business associations.
