Meeting with Business Association Members

Business Ombudsman of Georgia Irakli Lekvinadze has taken part in the meeting that was held between Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and the Business Association member companies. Minister of Finance Ivane Machavariani and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia have also attended the meeting.

here are a number of issue that disturb the business sector today and this meeting is a platform for the private sector to actualize all these issues. I believe similar communication with the business sector and active conversation on the relevant issues is very important. At the meeting we have discussed a wide spectrum of relevant issues such as economic policy, specific regulations and planned technical regulations, including amendments to the Labour Safety Law, coming regulations in the gambling business and Tobacco Control Law. We have mulled over sectoral issues, power sector, construction sector and finance directions. We also discussed government’s initiatives for establishing a commercial arbitration of International Chamber of Commerce in Georgia. The due agreement will be signed in Paris on December 20. At the meeting the business sector representatives named specific cases, which will be worked out at the Ministries and other offices, Irakli Lekvinadze noted after the meeting.
